The soccer scoreboards showed that Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, commonly known as the El Clasico, was played on the 29th November 2010. The great rivals met for the greatest game of football in the modern game, and the fans expected to witness a great match. However, only the Barcelona fans enjoyed it! The soccer scoreboards showed that Barcelona won 5-0, and proved to be much stronger than Real Madrid.
Barcelona has the best young players in the world. The blend of the team is just amazing. Every player knows his game plan to a tee and most importantly knows the plan of his team mates. They know exactly where and when their team mates move and can anticipate this almost as if with a sixth sense. The first goal of the match is an excellent example of the telepathy they share. Xavi knew that Iniesta was going to make a fast slide rule pass across the zone and got behind the defense to score with perfect timing. Players who have joined Barcelona recently have also somehow learned to share this telepathic ability. The Real Madrid players, in contrast, do not have this ability, and there game is much more disjointed than the free-flowing Catalans.
Players like Messi and Villa who have only played with each other since Villa joined Barcelona this summer, are playing like they have been team mates for years! These players are the best in the world in their respective positions and when put together they make a lethal duo that teams are having great trouble stopping! This is not the case with Ronaldo. He is the most expensive player in the world and is said be many to be the best player in the world, however, he is much less effective for his team than pretty much any of the Barcelona players are for their team. In this game, he pushed, Pep Guardiola, the coach of Barcelona. He is clearly and arrogant player, and really shows the contrast between the two teams.
Barcelona players like Messi and Xavi have grown up supporting Barcelona, so their motivation level is particularly high. This does not mean that the Madrid players are not tyring hard, but most of the players are only motivated by money and prestige. They do not have the kind of motivation that their captain; Ilker Casillas has for the club, who has held the club close to his heart for many years now. Barcelona also have a great manager who clearly installs a sense of pride and passion into the players not seen in the Madrid team.
Real Madrid showed no dignity during the match. Even the referee seemed to be biased. Carvalho elbowed Messi and instead of showing Carvalho the yellow card, it was shown to Messi. Ronaldo was allowed to continue playing even after he pushed Guardiola. This made no sense at all. Still Barcelona kept their calm and continued playing as they know so well, and in the end it was them who emerged victorious. I cannot help but think that Real Madrid is nothing but a money club that is shiny on the surface but soul-less underneath.
