Dunga
Carlos Caetano Bledorn Verri, commonly known as Dunga, coached the Brazilian team in the 2010 World Cup. He was a player for the Brazil team in 1994 who won the World Cup. In July 2006, Dunga was named as the coach of the national team. His coaching results were impressive, with the soccer scoreboards showing that Brazil won 4 out of 5 of their first matches that season. Initially his selection of the team was appreciated by many famous players but unfortunately it did not work out in the 2010 World Cup. Brazil got eliminated from the contest when they lost to Netherlands 2-1 in the quarterfinals. After their shameful exit, Dunga was dismissed by the Brazilian Football Confederation. He is now considered as the worst coach ever to lead the team in a World Cup.

Diego Maradona
Maradona is a former Argentine football player. He is known as one of the living legends of football. He led the team in 1986 World Cup and almost single handely won them the title. He scored the controversial goal commonly known as the “Hand of god” in the 1986 World Cup. He is considered as one of the most controversial and news worthy football players ever. He started coaching the national team in 2008 and in the 2010 World Cup everyone thought that he would be able to clinch the World Cup as a coach, but unfortunately he failed. Argentina faced a shocking defeat by Germany in the quarterfinals by 4-0. Maradona’s contract as the coach expired after the 2010 World Cup, and was not renewed.

Vicente Del Bosque
Del Bosque proved to be the most successful coach in the 2010 World Cup. After winning the European Cup in 2008, Spain was regarded as one of the favorites in the 2010 World Cup. They showed that they had what it takes to be the favorites by winning the 2010 World Cup in style. Del Bosque coached the national team to win their 1st World Cup title. He has also coached Real Madrid from 1993-2003, and this was a very successful period in the club’s history. In the World Cup final, his team defeated Germany in the semifinals 1-0 to qualify for the finals against Netherlands. His players kept their nerves and scored the winning goal in extra time of the game.

Bert Van Marwijk
Van Marwijk took over as the coach of the Dutch team in 2008 and since then everything has gone according to the plan for the team. Nobody can deny the fact that Netherlands played an outstanding 2010 World Cup. They had a 100 percent record in the tournament. The Dutch team defeated Brazil in the quarterfinals and Uruguay in the semifinals, and Van Marwijk guided the team to its first final ever. Despite a couple of players being suspended in the all important semifinal, Van Marwijk’s coaching brain helped guid the team to their first ever final. Unfortunately they lost, but Van Marwijk did a great job.
