In a soccer scoreboards news article, we ask the question – why does Teves suddenly want to leave Manchester City?
Carlos Tevez is an Argentine player who plays for the English club Manchester City. He is currently the captain of the team. He signed a three year contract with Manchester City but right in the middle of the season he has requested a transfer. In one way perhaps we cannot blame Tevez, as Manchester City has lost a lot of its star players since the Abu Dhabi group took over.
All their star players were distgruntled about the amount of playing time they were getting and left for this reason. These players included Steven Ireland, Martin Petrov, and Robinho. The soccer scoreboards showed that they all were once an integral part of Manchester City but they started to face problems when the new owner took over. Without doubt Tevez is the star player in this team, and he too now wants to transfer. He recently sent a transfer request to the management, but this request was turned down.
After his request got turned down he got so furious that he lashed out at his manager. Apaarently, Tevez, whose contract is until the end of the 2014 season, wants to end it so that he can spend more time with his family. He also said that his relationship with some of the executives and individuals has broken down and is now irreparable.
Apparently he said that he is tired of playing football and does not want to play in such a highly-strung and demanding team. He added that money does not mean much to him and this transfer is not at all about what cash he can get out of it. So what does he really want from this transfer? Is he following the footsteps of his former teammate and friend Wayne Rooney? Rooney also said that he wanted to leave Manchester United because the Chief executive failed to give him the assurances he was seeking. The next day he signed a five year contract with a huge pay raise.
Tevez says that it’s not about money but the fans are not convinced. Does he really want to spend more time with his family, or does he in actual fact want to beef-up his contract even further? He knows that he is the most influential player in the Manchester City team, and they will not want to let him go or else it will harm the team immensely. Is he is taking advantage of this in order to get more wad? Well, I guess the answer will be revealed in the coming weeks!
