LED message boards are part of our electronic culture and are seen virtually every day by those in metropolitan areas or even some of the more developed urban and suburban landscapes. The LED message boards play an important role in various walks of life, in different ways and by tremendously different people and organizations. The fact that the invention can prove to be such a strong tool for a melting pot of necessities shows how great of an effect technology can play on improving our lives and upon itself to offer a more effective way of doing business or communicating a message.
LED message boards have been used for additions or modifications to electronic scoreboards. Sports scoreboards are now all essentially equipped with these tools that have been becoming commonplace in major arenas and stadiums over the years, providing lucrative opportunities for advertisers, sponsors, boosters or the teams themselves to speak directly with the crowd and get them a message without going through a third party. Sports scoreboards, such as the one in Cowboy Stadium, utilize a variety of LED message boards, with some electronic scoreboards being completely built from LED technology and very little shell molding. Through these boards, we are able to watch advertisers promote products and services, or boosters calling for support for the team. We also see messages from the players on a team, or replays of the action after it has happened. The team introductions are displayed on these screens, as well as time-out break contests or giveaways, most common during basketball games. The versatility of the devices is simply amazing.
There have been other uses for the technology as well, and much of it has come from modified scoreboards running different software. FEMA and a variety of other government agencies use LED message boards towed in trailers to help guide disaster victims or various other citizens to the proper place to have their problems heard, or claims filed. These mobile, battery powered signs are an easy symbol for those in disaster zones to seek out to find help for their unfortunate circumstances.
Car dealers and banks are another prime example of those who use LED message boards for other purposes than electronic scoreboards. Advertising the time, the rates on loans and free checking accounts and offers available for new customers are all things that have been seen on a street sign for a bank. Car dealers can advertise low APR % and cash back incentives for qualified buyers on their signs, which many display in a full color spectrum.
Smaller businesses can use the single line window LED message boards to catch the eye of a passing customer who otherwise would have walked by and never noticed the store may carry something of interest to them. These signs have even made their way to being mounted on cars for mobile advertisement.
LED message boards have evolved and taken over the advertising sign industry as the gold standard. They can attract attention where simple signs cannot and offer the flexibility of performing many tasks that a simple sign just cannot do.
