In a football scoreboards feature, I have reviewed the latest goings on in the NFL labor dispute.
The dispute (fight, battle, war…everything fits!) is over the contract/agreement between the NFL franchise owners and the NFL Players Association. To say that the owners and the NFLPA don’t like each other would be like saying that the Cowboys and Redskins are friendly! Everyone, who pays even the slightest of attention to football, probably knows that a big battle has been going on behind the scenes (or should I say “behind the lines of the football field”!) for the better part of last year and this. Soccer scoreboards can reveal that Gary Neville revealed that he is retiring on 2nd February 2011. He was the captain of Manchester United for five years, and was dearly loved by the Man U fans throughout his extensive career with the team. He made his debut for the club in 1992 in the European cup against Tarpedo Moscow in Russia. At that time Manchester United had players like David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and Paul Scholes coming through the ranks. He quickly developed a great partnership with Beckham on the right wing.

Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers have made it to the forty fifth Super Bowl, they too have had their share of good and bad moments in the 2010-2011 season. In the latest baseball scoreboards article, I have looked at some of the more ridiculous injuries that MLB players have sustained.
Injuries are a part of every sport, no matter what the degree of physical exertion required. However, it seems that for a player to get injured, they do not necessarily need to be playing a particularly physical game, or in some cases they do not need to be playing at all to get injured. In some cases, as you will see, getting injured and missing a game are not mutually inclusive. The NBA has been greatly influenced by foreign players, particularly in the last decade. In a basketball scoreboards feature, I have listed the players who have made the greatest impact on the game past and present.
Yao Ming – China
Yao Ming was first drafted by the Houston Rockets in 2002. He was the rookie of the year in 2003. In the first three years of his career this iconic giant lived up to the expectations and hype that his presence in the league created. He also increased interest in the league in Asia massively. However, currently he is stuck in the realm of injuries and he might even have to retire. He has missed large parts of the last few seasons and has played only five matches so far this season. He remains very popular among NBA fans all over the world, and we all hope that he can still recover from his endless injuries and put in a good run of games.

In a baseball scoreboards feature, I have reviewed 3 of the most promising rookies for the year 2011.
Every team in every sport requires young talent to come through the ranks every year, so that they can replace their non-performing or players that have become a bit too old for the game (Jamie Moyer, anyone?) Being an older player doesn’t necessarily means they are not performing (again, Jamie Moyer!) but their fitness starts to deteriorate, which can cause inconsistencies in their performances. However, the point remains, rookies are important and here are the top 3 rookies with the greatest potential coming into 2011.
