Point guards are one of the most talked about positions in the NBA. They play a huge role within the team, and there is truth to the opinion that without a great point guard you cannot be a great team. The NBA has seen many great point guards over the years, however it will be interesting to see is given the award as the very best in the league this season. In a basketball scoreboards feature, I have taken a look at the 5 best point guards this season so far:
Rajon Rando
He is in the 5th season of his career and is one of the most talked about point guards. His performance has been outstanding throughout the season, and he is truly a massive asset for this team.
Tony Parker
San Antonio has a few players who are nearing their retirement age, and they need additional support from the point guards. Tony Parker has just been doing that. He is performing very well with the basketball scoreboards showing that he is at 17.5 points per game, which is the highest in his team, a 51.9 shooting percentage and 6.6 assists per game. He really is the difference maker for his team.
Russell Westbrook
Russell is a different point guard than the others. He is not so hot on the scoring side, however his abilities as a point guard are unquestionable. This season he has averaged 8.2 assists per game and with players like Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins he is performing consistently.
Chris Paul
Chris Paul is considered as one of the best point guards of the game. He has got all the skills and abilities a point guard could ask for and can turnaround the game in his favor in a matter of minutes.
Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose is THE best point guard in the NBA. This is just his third season in the NBA and he has taken the league by a storm. He averages 25 points per game and is the man to bring the Chicago Bulls to victory in the NBA. He could win the Most Valuable Player this season and there is no reason why he shouldn’t!
