As long as the scoreboards continue to light up, we’ll be there. Just read on and you’ll see what we mean.

The All-Time Baseball Hit Leaders

Pete Rose was an outstanding hitter for the Cincinnati Reds from 1963 to 1986. His 4,256 career hits vaulted him ahead of the legendary Ty Cobb for most baseball hits. Unfortunately, he won’t be joining Cobb in the Hall of Fame due to him placing bets on Major League games.

Ty Cobb set 90 MLB records during his career including the most career hits and the highest career batting average. A “hit run baseball” style allowed him to rack up the most career runs and the most stolen bases.

Hank Aaron is mainly known for hitting with power due to breaking Babe Ruth’s homerun record. Many baseball fans are unaware that he is also third all-time for the most baseball hits.

Stan Musial accumulated 3,630 career hits over a 22-year career to place fourth with the most baseball hits. The Hall of Famer also knocked 475 dingers out of the park in his career.

Tris Speaker accumulated 3,514 career hits and is currently fifth among baseball hit leaders. He had a .345 batting average over a 21-year career.

The 2008 Super Hits Leaders

Albert Pujols was voted the “Most Feared Hitter” by the league’s baseball managers. He is already putting up batting statistics that are better than Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, and Joe DiMaggio.

Alex Rodriquez may become known as the best hitter ever if he keeps up his torrid pace. It’s disheartening to learn that he may be another in a long line of steroid users. Assuming he isn’t suspended he should rack up some pretty impressive numbers playing for a deep Yankees team.

Manny Ramirez is another 2008 super hits leader that has put up some impressive batting statistics over his career. Alas, he was recently suspended for 50 games in the 2009 season for taking banned substances. Missing almost a third of the season won’t be good for his 2009 stats.

Ryan Howard is making everyone sit up and take notice. The former Rookie of the Year became the eighth player in history to hit 58 homeruns in a season in 2006. He had a bit of an off season in 2008 but still became a World Series Champion.

Derek Jeter has a batting average consistently over .300 each year. He has the fifth highest career batting average among active baseball players. He is in second place in hits and has the most hits in Yankee Stadium surpassing the great Lou Gehrig. His career batting average of .316 puts him in seventh place all-time.

Alfonso Soriano is a lead-off hitter that puts up some pretty impressive numbers. He has hit 30 homeruns and had 30 steals four times during his career and has accomplished a 40-40 once.
